Normal life in Hyderabad and other Telangana districts has been hit due to the bandh call given by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

TRS President K Chandra Sekhara Rao has called for the bandh in protest against the Central Ordinance, transferring seven mandals in Khammam district to the residuary Andhra Pradesh.

A good chunk of the seven mandals will be submerged in the Polavaram irrigation project. The Centre promulgated the Ordinance to avoid friction between the two states that are just separated.

Business and financial activities were hit in the State capital, with most of the banks and other financial institutions remained closed. Buses went off the roads throughout the day.
