Referring to Trinamool Congress MP Srinjoy Bose's arrest, West Bengal Governor, KN Tripathi, today said that the probe agency must have "good reason" to do so.

To a specific question on whether arrest of yet another Trinamool functionary was sullying the image of the State, the Governor said: "The agency which has arrested him must have good reason to do it. Therefore, it is too premature to comment."

Tripathi was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a seminar on heritage property.

Srinjoy, a Rajya Sabha MP and editor of Bengali daily Sangbad Pratidin, was arrested by the CBI in connection with the Saradha scam. He is also the editor of the Trinamool Congress' mouth piece Jago Bangla.
