The ₹4,600-crore turnover Berger Paints India, will invest ₹200 crore to set up an integrated plant at Sandila in Uttar Pradesh. The plant is expected to be operational by FY20.
According to a notification to the bourses, the proposed plant will be an integrated one. It will manufacture the whole range of water and solvent-based decorative, industrial and protective coatings, resin, putty, emulsion and construction chemical paints.
The company’s Managing Director and CEO Abhijit Roy was not available for comments. However, post the company’s 93rd Annual General Meeting in August, Roy had spoken of a capex of ₹200 crore for FY18 to be used for brownfield expansion.
