Bharati Defence and Infrastructure Ltd (BDIL) delivered an interceptor boat – C-162 – to Indian Coast Guard (ICG) at BDIL jetty in Mangaluru on Thursday.
The vessel will be based at Kochi and Deputy Commandant Pawan Koyar will be the commanding officer of ICG C-162.
The vessel can accommodate 11 crew members and will be used for patrolling purposes.
Launched on January 31, the vessel successfully completed the harbour and sea trials in 28 days. A press release said here that BDIL’s Mangaluru shipyard delivered the fifth interceptor boat – C-161 – to ICG on November 10 2017. The sixth boat was delivered after three-and-a-half months of the delivery of the fifth boat, it added.
