The valiant troops of Bison Division had moved to the coastal districts of Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam late Friday to assist the district administration in relief, rescue and evacuation operations in the wake of severe cyclone ‘Phailin’ which is likely to hit land between Srikakulam and Gopalpuram on Saturday evening.
Four teams comprising about 500 army men moved to the coastal districts with relief material and medical arrangement. The columns are equipped with mechanical powered boats, life jackets, life-saving medicine etc, according to a statement.
