For the first time in Gujarat, the annual The Hindu Business Line Corporate Quiz contest, CEREBRATION will be held in Ahmedabad on March 25 with an aim to provide a platform to showcase the sharpest and brightest brains.
This year the Annual Business Line Quiz 2014, Cerebration with the meaning “the working of the brain” is being conducted in 8 cities with inclusion of two additional cities – Ahmedabad and Kolkata apart from Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, where the National Finals will be held.
The Ahmedabad-round of the quiz contest will be held at The Pride Hotel, Bodakdev on the March 25 from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm before it finally reaches Mumbai on the March 30 for the Regional finals followed by the National finals. The National Finals will be telecasted on CNBC-TV18. For the teams qualifying for the Grand National Finale, the travel and stay will be taken care of by The Hindu Business Line .
The BL Cerebration Quiz 2014 has already been conducted at Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi and Kolkata.
The title sponsor for the event is Union Bank of India and the associate sponsor is Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL). The regional sponsors are Hudco and MTNL. Gift Sponsors are Vimal and Lawerence & Mayo. Noted quizmaster Lloyd D’souza will be the anchor for this year’s quiz.
There has since been a phenomenal growth in the popularity of BL Cerebration Quiz over the years with quizzing aficionados converging from all disciplines ranging from Advertising and Marketing to Software, Banking, Telecom and even Heavy Industry. Post graduate and Business School Students, who are avid readers of Business Line , also cast their lot with passion and does not fight shy of hitting the buzzer when pitted against seasoned quizzards.
“It might interest you to know that after running the BL quiz in the Online format last year we were obliged to switch back to the brick-and-mortar experience at the behest of a large number of passionate quizzards across the country. Therefore this year there is no online round, all teams need to do is to sign-up and follow all the formalities and come straight to the on-ground event to participate in the quiz,” the organisers of the event stated.
The last year’s event had seen some trail blazing, nail biting and toughest challanges from India’s premier corporate, IITs and B-schools. TCS from Chennai, Genpact from Delhi and Vizag Steel from Vizag held their nerves till the end to finish off at the top.
