CPI(M) politburo member Brinda Karat has criticised the Delhi police action on students demanding justice for the 23-year-old gang-rape victim and said that the administration was ‘insensible’.
“The authorities seem to be insensible to the grave incident which has shaken everyone’s conscience. This is a spontaneous protest movement,” Brinda Karat told a Bengali TV channel over phone today.
Demanding exemplary punishment for the rapists, the CPI(M) leader alleged “the police are irresponsible and it is not known who is accountable to the people of Delhi.”
