The Central Bureau of Investigation is investigating into reported irregularities in the award of contracts by the National Museum in Delhi from 2002 to 2005. The contracts pertained to handling, packing and transporting antique art objects, Parliament was informed on Tuesday.
The contract for handling, packing and transporting art objects for 14 exhibitions was awarded to a private company, Packwell & Co, the Minister of Culture, Kumari Selja, said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
She said a committee appointed by the then Director General had found “non-observance of codal formalities in the assignment of contract to Fine Art Handling Agent.”
