The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is carrying out search operations against the West Bengal-based Rose Valley Group across 43 locations in the country today in the alleged chit fund scam.
According to sources, of the 43 locations where the searches are being conducted, 27 are in West Bengal, 7 are in Tripura and one each in Odisha, Assam, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.
Rose Valley is one of the alleged deposit-taking companies whose names have featured in the list of ponzi firms prepared by the Corporate Ministry.
According to a CBI spokesperson, searches are being carried out at the residence of Lok Sabha MP Tapas Pal, apart from that of the Group Chairman, Gautam Kundu, Rose Valley Managing Director Shibamoy Dutta and other directors of the company.
