Prices of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and PNG (Piped Natural Gas) have been reduced in Delhi and the National Capital Region from Friday night/Saturday.
The price revision would bring down CNG rates by ₹14.90 a kg in Delhi and ₹16.55 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
This comes after the Government increased Indraprastha Gas Ltd’s (IGL) allocation of domestically produced gas for use as CNG and PNG.
PNG consumers Meanwhile, PNG consumers are set to get a two-way benefit — reduction in prices (for both price slabs) as well as 20 per cent increase in quantity of gas in the lower price slab. The lower price slab for PNG, which is used as cooking gas, will now be applicable for consumption of up to 36 scm (standard cubic metre) in two months, up from the earlier cap of 30 scm in two months.
Now, the consumer price of PNG in the lower slab has come down to ₹24.50 per scm up to consumption of 36 scm in two months, from ₹29.50 per scm for consumption up to 30 scm in two months earlier.
In the higher slab for consumption beyond 36 scm in two months, the applicable rate in Delhi would be ₹47/scm, which was earlier ₹ 52/scm beyond consumption of 30 scm in two months.
In Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad PNG would be priced at ₹26.20/scm up to consumption of 36 scm in two months in the lower slab, and ₹47.65/scm in the higher slab.
