Colgate Palmolive has reported a 25 per cent increase in net profit at ₹188.7 crore, which includes tax reversals of ₹17.79 crore, for the quarter ended March 31. Net sales on an adjusted basis was at ₹1,085.1 crore for the quarter, an increase of 5.1 per cent over the same period in the previous year.
Net sales growth was driven by volume growth of 4 per cent. In a statement Issam Bachaalani, Managing Director, Colgate-Palmolive (India), said: “In the fourth quarter, we delivered strong volume growth of 4 per cent despite a competitive business environment. We maintained our strong leadership position in both the toothpaste and toothbrush categories in FY 2017-18, with volume market shares for the year at 53.4 per cent and 44.8 per cent, respectively.”
