‘Cong has lost right to rule’

The BJP on Monday justified the Centre’s reported recommendation for the imposition of President’s rule in Arunachal Pradesh and asserted that the Congress has lost the “moral, political and Constitutional right” to rule the border State.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said six months have passed since the last session of the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly on July 21, 2015. The Congress is not able to fulfil this Constitutional requirement because it is not confident of winning the trust vote, he added. The whole crisis, said Trivedi, is a result of the “infighting, corruption and inability” of the Congress to rule the State.

“The CM has not been able to face a floor test. The Congress has moved the Supreme Court, the President of India and appealed to the media. But they have not called a session of the Assembly. Meanwhile, the people have been left to their fate,” he added.
