Hyderabad-based Country Club India Ltd (CCIL), a leisure and entertainment group, has opened an exclusive fitness centre at Juhu, Mumbai.
The centre was inaugurated by Bollywood actress Aarti Chhabria.
According to CCIL Chairman Y. Rajeev Reddy, “CCIL is investing Rs 350 crore into a chain of 100 fitness centres across the country in the next four years. Each fitness centre will see an investment of Rs 3.5 crore and range between 4,000-10,000 sq ft. It will have dedicated booking desk for members to chalk out vacation plans at ease.”
There are plans to set up these centres abroad also. The fitness industry is worth Rs 2,500 crore and is expected to grow by over 30 per cent on a year-on-year basis in the country, he said in a press release.
The company currently has operations in West Asia, Sri Lanka and Thailand. It owns and operates over 55 clubs across India and abroad and has over three lakh members. The company entered Dubai in 2008 by taking over an existing luxury boutique hotel for around Rs 175 crore, the release said.
