Dakshina Kannada district administration will conduct a credit camp for financing roof-top solar power plants in Mangaluru on February 17.
Addressing presspersons in Mangaluru on Friday, AB Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner of the district, said that the credit camp is first in the series of initiatives planned to encourage citizens to switch over to the use of renewable energy sources with a special focus on grid-connected roof-top solar systems.
The credit camp will bring all the financing institutions, Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (Mescom), and government-approved agencies dealing in supply and installation of roof-top solar systems under one roof.
He said that the banks will provide provisional sanction letters to the eligible customers who visit the camp.
A help-desk is also being planned by Mescom to guide citizens on the procedures to be followed for obtaining feasibility certificate, which is a pre-requisite for getting the bank finance for their solar projects, he added.
