The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has issued an advisory to all news channels to carry the live telecast of the Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony with the sign language interpretation.
The ‘DD news’ channel would be carrying the sign language interpretation of the Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony.
The Ministry said this would enable people with hearing impairments to witness the telecast of Independence Day celebrations.
It also said that it has been getting requests from members of the civil society to facilitate access to people with hearing impairment to the telecast of Independence Day celebrations and commentary.
