The discussions on forming a Government in Delhi reached a dead-end as the Aam Aadmi Party ruled out taking “unconditional support” from either the Congress or the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The AAP told the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung that there is nothing called unconditional support in politics. The party has said that it received offer of unconditional support from the Congress.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has also written letters to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and BJP President Rajnath Singh.

Kejriwal has sought the response from both the parties on 18 issues, which AAP thinks are crucial for Delhi.

He said the responses of these parties will be placed before the people before taking a call on Government formation.

“We are not hungry for power. We are not here to become ministers. Our focus will be on the well-being of the people of Delhi,” he said after meeting Jung.

“Leader of AAP legislative party Arvind Kejriwal met lieutenant governor. Referring to the letter of support received from Congress, Kejriwal said he would be in a position to form a government only after ascertaining the views of people of Delhi. The honourable LG will be submitting a factual report to the honourable President of India," a statement from Jung's office said.

Kejriwal has sought response on the issues such as CAG audit of power distribution companies, regularisation of colonies, improving infrastructure in slums, water distribution and ending the VIP culture in the State.

BJP flays AAP Both the Congress and the BJP have termed AAP’s move as arrogant. The parties said such a move is unheard of in parliamentary democracy. The Congress said it will respond to Kejriwal’s letter soon.
