To encourage people to use the Metro, the Telangana government will soon launch a pilot project to promote electric feeder vehicle services by providing last-mile connectivity.
“The government will soon implement the feeder service in the high-density corridors. We would like more people to use public transport,” Telangana Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao said.
Taking part in a review meeting on the issue of last-mile connectivity to Metro stations here, he said charging points would be installed at Metro stations and bus depots to let passengers charge their electric vehicles.
“In order to ensure last-mile connectivity, an action plan is being prepared to set up e-vehicle feeder services in association with SETWIN (a private transport service provider), Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Hyderabad Metro,” he said.
