Communication skills, both oral and written should be effective even if it were to be in the local language. But to be successful in the current scenario, students should be proficient in not only English but also at least in one foreign language, said R. Viswanathan, Corporate Trainer, while delivering a BL Club guest lecture on industry expectations from MBAs presented by Central Bank of India to students of management studies at Vignana Sudha Degree and PG College, Chitoor

Creative and innovative thinking provide solutions to issues related to people and process for which he encouraged students to read a lot. High levels of confidence to face unforeseen challenges and the ability to take calculated risks are essential qualities to possess.

Drive for results is an essential attribute the industry expects from a newcomer and reasons are generally not accepted in the corporate world for failures. Reliability can be built only through consistent delivery of positive results over a period of time and willingness to take up new tasks and assignments will help them towards gaining the trust of the superiors.

Willingness to learn on a continuous basis not only for new things but also to unlearn certain myths and perceptions will help a newcomer to be successful in the corporate world.

He concluded by saying that attitude towards work determines ones career and a positive attitude will always be more rewarding in their career plan and advised students to be smart and also hardworking as the future holds only a short learning curve for one to sustain and be successful in life.
