Development of communicative skills is of paramount importance for students, said Aparna Reddy, Deputy General Manager (Human Resources), TMI, a skill development and recruitment company.

“You can learn a lot from others by observation,” she said while delivering the BL Club guest lecture at the St Anns Junior College recently. The lecture series is sponsored by the State Bank of Hyderabad.

Speaking on the topic ‘Personality Development and Communications Skills’, she said, “Appreciate people, admire them, accept your weaknesses and be genuine in your feelings and thoughts about yourself and people around you.”

Drawing from her experience in different roles in the corporate sector over the past decade, Aparna Reddy gave several tips to the students. She asked them to be receptive and always be smiling no matter what the challenge or situation.

In the interactive session that followed, the focus of the discussion was on how personality development would make a difference in career and how it can be achieved, especially in the challenging and competitive world.
