What inspiration can one draw from an ant?

An ant never sleeps, replied a student. Further, the tiny creature is the most hardworking being in this world added M.C. Das, Management Consultant.

An ant that never sleeps and Mother Earth which never stops rotating are great sources of inspiration for students, he said while delivering the keynote address on `Dynamics of Achievement’ at the Laqshya College of Management in Khammam recently.

These examples can provide inspiration to channelise the energies of students in the right path to realise their full potential and achieve greater heights in their lives, he said as part of The Hindu Business Line Club Talk, sponsored by State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH).

“You can draw inspiration from the lives of distinguished personalities like former President Abdul Kalam and from anything in nature”.

“The earth rotates at a speed of 1,040 mile per hour on its own axis.

"It takes 365.22 days to complete one revolution. If it stops for a fraction of second, all the living beings and millions of species of life will perish,” he noted adding that the earth stands as a shining example for hard work, punctuality and accuracy.

Similarly, the systems in our body never sleep. Heart, lungs, kidneys, liver and other organs will not rest.

There are 60 lakh crore cells in our body.

Each cell is an independent living organism with specific life span with designated tasks to perform, he said.

“Human body is the best organisation in the world with 60 lakh crore of employees working day in and day out.

"We are all chairmen and Managing Directors of the largest organisation in the world,” he said.

The SBH, AGM, Khammam, G. Krishna Mohan, explained the bank’s corporate social responsibility activities such as providing artificial limbs to physically-challenged people free of cost and programmes aimed at promoting financial inclusion and financial literacy in the rural areas.

Laqshya Group of Colleges Chairman Gurram Tirumala Rao and the College of Management Secretary and Correspondent K. Srinivas also spoke.
