Most successful people in the world attribute their success to effective time management activities which they do in their routine life, says Kumar Raghavan of NMDC.

Time management is the key towards maintaining efficient work-life balance and is a reason for their happiness, he said at a seminar on management skills. The event was organised at the Siva Sivani Institute of Management here as part of BL Lecture series sponsored by the State Bank of Hyderabad.

He suggested that every student must practice to write a list of ‘things to do’, which he/she must consider to be the agenda for the day. They should ensure sincere completion of the same, Raghavan, Company Secretary and Executive Director of NMDC said.

Time management is directly correlated to the ability to prioritise. One must know which work/task needs immediate attention and which can be temporarily procrastinated.

The senior management professional from the public sector steel major suggested that management students should set their goals, plan and prioritise. They should minimise the interruptions and emphasise on continuous evaluation.

One of the most commonly committed mistakes by youngsters while preparing the ‘to do list’ is to mention extremely unachievable targets. This failure in achieving the desired outcome de-motivates them and has an impact in disrupting the other plans also, Raghavan said.

The winners of the Eplus Challenge Contest organised by The Hindu and the TKR Group of Institutions were felicitated by Kumar Raghavan for their performance at the regional level.
