‘It is time for you now to redefine your life. Turn inside to learn your strength and unleash the enormous energy within so that your performance outside is ever excellent’, said Navilu Subramanian, Chairman, Madras Management Association, Tiruchi Chapter.
He was delivering a guest lecture under the Business Line Club of the Department of Commerce and Financial Studies, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi recently on ‘Inward Journey for Outward Excellence’.
He said that as students they were at the threshold of a phase in their life to redefine priorities. Life span is short and the early part is spent on acquiring knowledge to seek and set a direction for the life. In the process, there is also a need to unwind some. To be successful in life, everyone needs to understand the ‘I’ in the personality, he stressed.
The event was sponsored by Tamilnad Mercantile Bank, Tuticorin.
He said that the integration of body, mind and soul will bring forth vast energy lying dormant in every person. Once awakened, this would unleash the enormous mental power required to perform outside. In the process, they need to learn to turn the challenges into opportunities. If one is able to gather the mental strength to focus on a chosen activity, the outward performance will be excellent too, resulting in making a difference in life. The implication is that the outlook in the person matters — one needs to think globally and act locally. Everyone will need to perceive one self as an agent of change, he said.
The power for such an outward performance could be gained if one learnt to ignore the defects of others and work assiduously on the strength in the person. In the process, take whatever happens as good and always think positively. Quoting John Keats, he concluded saying that a thing of beauty is a joy for ever.
Earlier, Dr. M. Selvam, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering. S. Sentil Anandan, Regional Manager, TMB, Tiruchi, explained the schemes of the bank.
