How many of you feel that you are successful in life? This question was raised by K.M. Padmanabhan, Director of Prerana Educational Media Pvt Ltd, to students of management studies of Rayalaseema MBA College, Tirupati.

He was delivering a BL Club guest lecture presented by Central Bank of India

When some of the students said they were successful in life because they were pursuing MBA programme after successfully clearing the entrance exams, Padmanabhan said for being successful, one had to develop their overall competence and set a measurable goal and achieve it passionately. In this attempt, language is very important and English being a global business language, everyone should know it to be successful in life. The real issue in English language today is people in general think in their mother tongue while they speak in English. He advised students to improve their language skills, in addition to reading, they should make it a point to also watch a business news channel.

He cited ability to communicate logically as one of the impediments in communication. One who always gives excuses for not accomplishing goals can never be successful even if they are intelligent and hard working as they lack the attitude to be successful.

Courage is another factor which is very important to be successful in life and passionate people never give excuses. He concluded by saying that the winning formula is the willingness to shoulder responsibility for one’s action. He asked students to introspect whether they are making a goal which is inspiring and challenging.
