‘Students must prepare well before the interview to succeed’

The best student may not always get the job, it is often the student who performs well at the interview who is bound to make it, says an expert in Human Resources.

Speaking on facing interviews, Aparna Reddy said when a student graduates and is ready to enter the professional world, the first important challenge is facing an interview board.

In a way, this phase decides the future of the student and enables them start the most productive days of their life, said Aparna Reddy, Dy. General Manager, Human Resources at TMI E2E.

Delivering the BL Club guest lecture at the Malla Reddy Institute of Management, sponsored by the State Bank of Hyderabad recently, she emphasised on the need for giving high priority for preparing well to face interviews. Students who prepare well are bound to succeed easily. A student who is confident can build rapport and trust, she she told the management students at the college.

Aparna Reddy gave several examples while focussing on the most common mistakes which students make at interview boards. At the same time, she also cleared the myths they had about the interview process in the corporate and Government sectors.

The industry expects students to acquire certain skills like good communication, practical knowledge, adapting the situations and challenges . With several suggestions and tips, she told the students to be on a continuous learning mode to succeed.
