As many as 428 students from diverse backgrounds were inducted into the new batch of the academic programmes at Manipal-based TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) recently.
A press statement from the institute said here that students were admitted for the 32nd batch of PGDM (postgraduate diploma in management) and the fifth batch of PGDM in healthcare management.
This year’s batch has 83 per cent engineers and the average work experience of the new inductees is around 2.5 years. It said that 33 per cent of students in new batches are females.
Speaking on the occasion, ES Chakravarthy, Head-TCS, Bangalore, said that every industry has something to offer to the students regardless of their background.
He said that the managers need to equip themselves with acumen for risk management, highest degree of compliance, and need for sustainability.
Shantaram, Trustee and Governing Council Member of TAPMI, recounted the foundation laid by the visionaries – TMA Pai and TA Pai.
Director of TAPMI, RC Natarajan, welcomed the gathering.
