C. V. R. College of Engineering, Ibrahimpatnam, near Hyderabad has undertaken five technology development projects with relevance to the defence sector.
The projects were fully funded by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to the tune of Rs 50 lakh, Raghava V. Cherabuddi, President and Chairman of the College, told newspersons here on Saturday. Of these, three projects have been technically approved and are in an advanced stage of production.
The projects related to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, special purpose data acquisition systems, multi-carrier CDMA spread spectrum and phase array antenna-based radar.
"Our college will be undertaking more projects in collaboration with the Defence sector and other organisations," the Chairman said.
A. K. Chakrabarty, Director, Defence Research and Development Laboratory, said there was a need to attract young talent to engineering collages with collaborative projects.
According to Sen Gupta, Dean of CVR College, about 30 M.Tech students and five faculty members were working on the projects.
