An interactive seminar titled Changing segmentation practices in the age of social concerns was held at the Amity Business School here on Wednesday as part of the Business Line Club, a campus initiative launched by The Hindu Business Line and Cairn India, one of the fastest growing energy corporations of the world.
The event witnessed participation by students and faculty of the Amity Business School, representatives from Cairn India and The Hindu Business Line .
The seminar started with Major General B.N. Kaul, pro-vice chancellor of Amity University (Rajasthan) greeting the guest speakers Sitara Menon, Manager of Branding and Communications, Jaipur Rugs, and A.P. Gaur, DGM, corporate communications, Cairn India.
S.K. Sareen, Registrar, Amity Unversity and Ashish Lehri, Director, Amity Business School, Jaipur were also present on the occasion.
During the seminar, Menon underscored the significance of the Internet and the digital media in promoting a business.
“The seminar taught us how to explore new avenues for business promotion,” said a student.
An eleven-minute film, highlighting the activities of Cairn India, followed the seminar, drawing appreciation from the students and faculty alike.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Lehri.
The Business Line Club forms an interface between industry and academia allowing the two entities to work with each other to evolve current practices in the industry.
