The Zilla Parishad Gachibowli High School in Khajaguda, adjoining the IT hub in Hyderabad is in for a pleasant surprise.
The children in the Government school will get access to a full-fledged science laboratory set up jointly by two big corporates.
Bombardier Transportation, a rail technology leader has teamed up with Infotech Enterprises to build the new science laboratory.
The corporate social responsibility initiative of Bombardier also marks its 10th anniversary of engineering partnership with Hyderabad-based, Infotech Enterprises.
The school is located near Bombardier’s Engineering Centre India, (BTECI), home to over 400 engineers serving Bombardier projects around the world including Indian projects such as Delhi Metro, a company press release said.
Earlier this year, Bombardier, the Canada-headquartered company and Infotech opened new sanitation facilities at the Zilla Parishad Khajaguda School, also near the BTECI.
This partnership led to the development of a school playground for the schoolchildren along with upgrading classroom furniture.
Ashok Reddy, President Global Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Infotech Enterprises, said the company’s charitable trust is focussed on improving quality of education to underprivileged children at schools that lack basic amenities.
So far it has adopted 13 schools in the neighbourhood of facilities in South India and was supporting more than 7,000 underprivileged children.
