Several leading corporates will participate in the campus placement programme to be conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India here on August 13 and 14.

“Despite the economic slowdown, we expect strong response from the corporate sector,” Babu Abraham Kallivayalil, chief coordinator of Ernakulam Centre and member of Central Council of ICAI, said.
ICAI, through its Committee for Members in Industry (CMII), organises campus placement programme at 16 different locations across the country. The programme is held twice a year in August-September and February-March.
Ernakulam is the only centre in Kerala for campus placement programme and there was tremendous response from the industry as well as from participants in the last few years, he said, adding that the institute is expecting participation of 5,000 candidates who completed their course this year.
The campus placement programme enables budding chartered accountants to start their career on a high note and get exposed to managing finances of some of the large corporates and conglomerates, Babu Abraham said.
Last year, more than 130 companies participated in the placement programme during both the seasons across the country and about 1,500 candidates were recruited.
V.X.Jose, Chairman, Ernakulam Branch of SIRC of ICAI, and Mathew Joseph also attended the press meet.
