A national Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) university will be soon be set up here.
This was disclosed by Union Minister of State for MSME K. H. Muniyappa at the golden jubilee celebrations of the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises here on Saturday.
“Though we have got 100 acres of land in the heart of the city here, only 50 acres are under our possession now. We requested the State Govt to hand it over to us fully or to provide another 100 acres elsewhere,” the Minister said.
Another technical training institute was also being set up in Visakhapatnam at an investment of over Rs 150 crore. “ Work on this is expected to begin next month,” Muniyappa added.
