The Tripura Government will challenge in the Supreme Court an order by the Tripura High Court that cancelled the jobs of 10,323 government school teachers. “The State Government had invited the Advocate General of the state to give his opinion about the employment policy and the Tripura High Court’s verdict .

Following his suggestions, we have decided to appeal in the Supreme Court to review the judgment,” Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said. A division bench of Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das of the high court had on May 7 terminated the jobs of the teachers as it found that the recruitment was not transparent. It also asked the State Government to arrange fresh recruitment process by December .
