VIT University, Vellore, has placed a proposal before the Madhya Pradesh Government for setting up an international level institution in the State.
The proposal was given by the Chairman of VIT University Dr G. Vishwanathan who called on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday, official sources said today.
The Chairman said he expected the cooperation of the Madhya Pradesh Government in this regard and Chouhan has assured him of his full support.
He said the Madhya Pradesh Government was keen to establish nternational-level institutions in the State.
Vishwanathan said 900 students from Madhya Pradesh were studying in the Vellore-based university, 150 of whom were from Bhopal.
He said preliminary preparations have been initiated for setting up the proposed institute in the State.
