All roads lead to Osmania University campus here today as it kicks off its centenary celebrations. The university was set up through a royal Firman issued by the Nizam of Hyderabad in the year 1917.

President Pranab Mukherjee will kick off the year-long centenary celebrations with an address to an august gathering in the university, which has played a major role in the state and the country. Among its illustrious alumni is the former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao.

The Indo-Saracenic architecture of the massive, majestic buildings in the sprawling campus bears the stamp of the then princely State of Hyderabad.

The all-stone Arts College, which was built over several years, bears testimony to the architectural excellence of the institution.

Alumni from all over the world have converged here to be part of the celebrations.

Meanwhile, a section of student community have been expressing their concern about lack of jobs plaguing society.
