Answer to the present problems in the economy lies in achieving efficiency and managers can play a major role in this, according to Abhijit Sen, Member, the 14th Finance Commission.
Sen, who was also a former member of the Planning Commission, was addressing the students of ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education at its fourth convocation of the university held here on Monday.
Stating that the country had a limited period of time to take advantage of the demographic dividend, the noted economist asked the youngsters to spearhead the growth.
In his presidential address, C H Hanumantha Rao, Chancellor of the University reiterated the need to revamp higher education.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mahender Reddy said the faculty members published 192 papers in professional journals of repute and the university organised six international conferences during the year.
During the convocation, 1,217 students were awarded PhD, MBA, BBA and B.Tech degrees.
