Cambridge English Language Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge, will help enhance the employability of students of the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University here.

Both parties have entered into an agreement, following which Cambridge English Language Assessment conducted a seminar for heads of engineering colleges affiliated to the university.

It offered insights into the complexities of workplace communication skills and dwelt on ways to overcome these challenges as well as enhance students’ employability during campus placements.

Under the agreement, students of engineering colleges who take the Cambridge English: Business Certificates (BEC) exams will earn 50 activity points as part of completion of their degree.

Cambridge English: BEC offers proof accepted globally by many leading corporate organisations that the students have the necessary English language skills needed for study, work and life, said TK Arunachalam, Regional Director-South Asia, Cambridge English Language Assessment.

Likewise, the institutions offering the Cambridge English exams will be able to prove to employers that they are capable of grooming strong candidates for a particular job.

Cambridge English has also launched a portal www.campustowork.org, a free platform for institutions to position themselves as preferred partners for recruitment with prospective employers.
