The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will hold its campus placement for the newly qualified chartered accountants (CAs) from February 17 to March 15 at 16 centres across the country.
According to newly elected ICAI president K Raghu, “Placement for CAs spread over a month will see a total of 2,690 candidates taking part. In all, 35 organisations and 62 interview teams have confirmed their participation.”
Prominent companies, including Accenture, Amazon Development Centre India, BPCL, Bosch, Cipla, Credit Suisse Services India, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals, Indiabulls Housing Finance, ITC, JM Financial, Kalpataru Power Transmission, LIC Housing Finance, MMTC, TCS, Federal Bank, UTI and Whirlpool have confirmed participation.
In 2013, about 120 companies had participated and about 1,600 candidates were offered jobs.
The companies that hired CAs in 2013 were mostly from the IT industry, financial services, oil and gas, banking, BPO, telecommunication and FMCG.
Last year, the highest salary offered for a domestic position was ₹20 lakh a year by Hindustan Unilever Ltd.
