The Registrar and Vice- Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh University have filed two complaints against each other alleging wrongdoing, police said on Friday.
The Vice-Chancellor Vikram Chandra Goel and Registrar Manoj Kumar Chauhan filed complaints yesterday, SHO Medical police station Umeshchand Pachauri told PTI today.
However, Goel said he has not given any police complaint but did not rule out somebody from his office submitting the complaint. Chauhan could not be reached for comment.
The registrar in his complaint alleged that Goel forcibly evicted him from his office on Wednesday and also threw out his belongings.
Chauhan further alleged that the CCTV footage was tampered with and some files were missing from his office.
The VC in his complaint alleged that Chauhan is holding the office of the registrar in the university even after being relieved of his duties.
The registrar also alleged Goel was not allowing him to join despite a government order for the same, the SHO said.
The VC said he had written a letter to Uttar Pradesh government on September 4 asking for Chauhan’s transfer. When no such step was taken, he relieved the Registrar of his duties on October 20 on the charges of undue interference.
Following which Chauhan brought a letter from the state government asking the VC to take back the orders, Goel added.
Goel said according to rules the state government cannot take back a decision taken by the VC and added the he will follow the orders given by the Governor. He said he has requested the Governor to clear the situation but no orders have been issued so far and till directions are not issued he cannot allow the Registrar to join the university.
Police said they are investigating the matter but since it is a departmental dispute it should be handled by the department.
