Girls outshine boys in the higher secondary exam results announced in Tamil Nadu today.
More than eight lakh students took the examinations in March and the total pass percentage was 88.1 per cent, official sources said. Girl students secured a pass percentage of 91 per cent, while boys secured 84.2 per cent.
Two boys from Namakkal district — Jayasurya and Abhinesh clinched the top honours obtaining 1,189 marks each, while Pazhaniraj from Tiruchengodu and Ahalya from Hosur shared the second rank securing 1,188 marks.
Six students shared the third rank securing 1,187 marks.
A total of 2,352 students secured centum in Maths, while in Physics it was 36 students. In Chemistry and Biology, 1,499 students and 682 students secured centums, respectively.
