GMR Aviation Academy, the learning and development arm of GMR Airport has been selected by the International Air Transport Association as the “2017 South Asia Top Performing IATA Accredited Training School.”
The academy is an IATA authorised training centre and conducts training programmes on Dangerous Goods Regulations in all categories and programmes on airport operations, basic cargo and travel and tourism.
The recognition is based on the number of participants trained in the courses and the year on year growth. It trained over 2,900 students during 2016 with a year on year growth of 74 per cent.

The GMR Academy, accredited in September 2014, is one of its kind in the Indian sub-continent to have been conferred with the ‘Regional Training Centre of Excellence’ stature by the ICAO, besides being the Global Training hub of the Airports Council International.
The training covers airport operators, foreign and domestic airlines (pilots, cabin crews, screeners), ground handlers and cargo stakeholders (shippers, freight forwarders, customs house agents ).
GMR Aviation Academy has full-fledged units at Hyderabad and Delhi.
