The government today cleared a new recruitment policy of National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) paving the way for direct recruitment for certain administrative positions.
The executive council of NCERT which met here under the chairmanship of the HRD Minister Mr Kapil Sibal cleared the policy while addressing some of the concerns of section of agitating NCERT staff.
“For certain positions there would be lateral entry and direct recruitment so that fresh talents are available to the council to meet future challenges efficiently,” said a source in NCERT.
So far, recruitment to these posts was carried out through promotions.
Sources said while some of the concerns of a section of the agitating staff was addressed taking their views into consideration, some other demands like not undertaking direct recruitment was struck down.
They said a provision for “limited departmental” examination has been created to facilitate faster growth of talented minds in the organisation.
