The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) has organised for the first time a campus placement programme at Kochi chapter.
The response from corporates /industry to the programme was encouraging with the active participation of seven companies which included Wipro Ltd, Synthite Industries Ltd, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, Kerala Ayurveda Ltd, DM Healthcare (P) Ltd, Unisis Systems & Solutions (I) Pvt Ltd and GTN Textiles Ltd.
The institute had shortlisted around 55 CMAs, out of which 20 secured placements at the venue, V Santhosh Kumar, Chairman, Kochi chapter of ICAI, said.
Cost accountants were offered an average salary of around Rs 6 lakh a year with the highest pay reaching Rs 11 lakh.
