The International Institute of Digital Technologies (IIDT) set up by the AP Government at Tirupati is making fine progress and it will play a key role in promoting IT sector in the State, according to J.A Chowdary, the adviser to the Chief Minister on the IT sector.
He was speaking at a function organised here on Saturday evening by the IT Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITAAP). He said the IIDT was set up temporarily at Sri Venkateswara University a few months ago and it was conducting classes in the one-year PG course in cyber security and business analytics. He said major IT companies were being involved in mentoring students at the campus. A permanent campus would be set up on the outskirts of Tirupati after sometime.
Chowdary said IT major, Cisco, and Kii Corporation of Japan had evinced interest in setting up centres of excellence on the campus of the IIDT.
He said the State would aggressively promote Visakhapatnam as a major Fintech centre and a global conference would be held here on blockchain technology and other cutting-edge technologies.
The entrance test for the second batch of students at IIDT would be conducted on June 25, he added.
