Taking inspiration from the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Allahabad, which has attracted the attention of, among others, even Harvard Business School, India’s own best-known business school has also come up with the idea of a “Mahakumbh” for its old mavericks.
The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will hold IIMAvericks Meet on January 26 and 27 on its campus, a spokesperson said here on Thursday, terming the event as a Mahakumbh.
IIM-A’s Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) will organise the event.
Prof Rakesh Basant, Chairperson of CIIE, said, “We believe entrepreneurship is not just about doing business but about following your passions. Hence, the term ‘maverick.’ We wish to celebrate the idea of being different and create a family that can encourage and support each other.”
More than 100 alumni would participate in it, including H. K. Mittal (Secretary, Technology Development Board of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India), Venkat Krishnan (Founder and Director, Give India), Ashank Desai (Founder and Ex-Chairman, Mastek), Nirmal Jain (Chairman, IndiaInfoline), Gaurav Dagaonkar (Musician), Prof Sunil Handa (Founder, Eklavya School),Vijay Mahajan (Founder and CEO, Basix), Shiv Dugal (Founder and Chairman, ICRI), Sanjeev Bikhchandani (Founder and Vice-Chairman, Naukri.com), and Rashmi Bansal (author).
