IIM Bangalore (IIM-B) has bagged the top spot in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2019 under the Management category, released on Monday.
IIM Ahmedabad (IIM-A) bagged the second spot and IIM Calcutta on third.
For the awards, the framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a core committee set up by MHRD, to identify the parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. These parameters broadly cover Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity and Perception.
The President of India Ram Nath Kovind gave away the awards.
Reacting to the top ranking, IIM-B Director G Raghuram said, “This is due to the efforts of the IIM-B faculty and staff — both current and former, past Leadership, the Board, Students and Alumni, and the supporting eco-system.”
