IIM Calcutta placements: top domestic salary at ₹70 lakh/annum

IIM Calcutta has completed the final placement process for the PGDM batch of 2017. The entire process was completed within three days.

The highest domestic package was to the tune of ₹70 lakh per annum, whereas the highest international package was at $130,000 per annum.

As has been the trend in previous years, most of the placements were in the finance sector. Nearly 29 per cent of the offers were in the finance sector with Arga Investment, BAML, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMC, among others being the major companies.

With 22 per cent of the total offers, consulting emerged as the second highest recruiter. Top recruiters in this sector were Accenture, AT Kearney, Bain, BCG, McKinsey, a press release from the institute said.

General management firms made nearly 15 per cent of the offers with the Aditya Birla Group, CK Birla Group and TAS being the major names.

Sales and marketing roles contributed to 12 per cent of the total offers with firms like HUL, ITC, P&G, Reckitt Benckiser leading the pack. E-commerce and IT accounted for 14 per cent of the total offers with companies with Amazon, Wipro and others being the major draw.
