The 8th batch (2014-15) of Post Graduate Program for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) witnessed a 100 per cent placement for the batch of 38 students. The batch witnessed a total of 40 offers.

Of the 38 students in the batch, three were sponsored, three were on study leave, and one opted out of placements, according to a release issued by IIMC.

Major recruiters included management consulting, e-commerce and manufacturing companies.

E-tailing major Flipkart made the largest number of offers for their supply chain function, while some of the other companies who came in for placements includes the likes of Accenture, Atos Origin, CGN, L&T, Daimler, Outotec, Ford, Snapdeal, Hero Motocorp, TCS, ACC, TVS Motors, KPMG, Wheels India and Marvel Realtors.

The average salary for the batch, according to the IIM-C release, was around Rs 16.72 lakh per annum; with Rs 22.5 lakh per annum being the highest offer. Compared to last year’s average salary of Rs.14.75 lakh per annum, there has been an increase of 13 per cent.

“This year we saw increased interest in our programme from global majors as Rolls Royce, Airbus through offer of internships to our students,” Prof Partha Priya Datta, Chairperson, PGPEX-VLM, the placement performance of PGPEX-VLM, was quoted in the release.
