IIT-M’s Samanvay ’18 ends

The three-day annual business festival ‘Samanvay 2018’ organised by the department of management studies, IIT-Madras, which saw some of the astute business brains of the country battling out in various events on finance and marketing, ended here on October 28.

The theme for this year event, ‘Sprinting towards creative disruption’, witnessed Shobu Yarlagadda, CEO, Arka Media Works, the man behind the Bahubali series, and Varun Sehgal, Director, Freecharge, as chief guests for the inaugural ceremony where they shared their stories and talked about the latest disruptions in their industries.

The business festival began with a conclave, panel discussion event with eminent personalities discussing about the disruptions and business transformations being brought about by the latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence(AI), Internet of Things(IoT) among others.

The event recorded participation of about 1,100 students from across India, besides eminent investors, mentors and judges.

As part of the event, a beach clean-up drive was conducted by the students at Besant Nagar, which saw 80 participants from the institute followed by the flagship marathon, which saw a turnout of more than 1,000 people.

Companies that partnered for Samanvay 2018 included Caterpillar, TVS, SBI and others. BusinessLine was the media partner.
