XLRI has seen a substantial increase in the number of offers and recruiters this year.
While the number of offers stood to 386; there were 42 new recruiting companies (or an increase of 17 per cent over last year).In all, 139 companies participated in the recruitment process.
Pre-placement offers (PPOs) increased to 121; against 102 last year.
For the placements 2017, XLRI saw 139 recruiters across segments that include human resources, consulting, marketing and media, technology, general management, finance and operations.
The average salary was ₹19.21 lakh per annum, the B-school said in release.
“This year’s placement season has witnessed a remarkable increase in both offers and recruiters. There has also been a significant increase in PPOs over last year and an across the board increase in the salary package as well,” Fr. E Abraham, Director, XLRI - Xavier School of Management said.Some of the major companies which took part in the placement process include Deloitte, PwC, E&Y, KMPG among others in the consulting sphere.
The technology and marketing & media space saw recruiters like Uber, Diecti, HCL, Tech Mahindra, ITC, Mondelez, Heinz, GSK, etc.
ICICI Bank was the largest recruiter in the finance space; while general management saw companies like Aditya Birla, Tata Group, Future, RPG participate.
