The Institute of Rural Management-Anand (IRMA) will organise the Dr Verghese Kurien Memorial Lecture and the Second National Symposium on Rural Management at Anand on Friday.
IRMA had instituted the annual Dr. Verghese Memorial Lecture in honour of its iconic founder last year. The second lecture in the series will be delivered by Dr. V. S. Vyas, Member, Economic Advisory Committee to the Prime Minister, on the ‘Changing Contours of Rural India’ on Friday.
The same day the second edition of the National Symposium on Rural Management will be flagged off at IRMA, the pioneering academic institution of rural management education, according to a release here on Thursday.
The theme of the symposium ‘Engendering Rural Transformation’ conveys a vision of pro-active and positive changes along with the development of rural communities concomitant with national and global changes. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Y. K. Alagh, Chancellor, Central University of Gujarat.
Others participating in the event include S. M. Vijayanand, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development; R. S. Sodhi, Managing Director, GCMMF; and Prof. Tushar Shah, Senior Research Fellow, IWMI.
