Young professionals should carefully choose and join "good" businesses, according to G V Prasad, co-chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. He was speaking as chief guest at the Graduation Day 2018 of NMIMS Deemed to be Univeristy here on Thursday.

“We are hearing of businessmen running away and instances of crony capitalism. This is not business. Join a company which will do good for society and values you,” he said.

Narrating his experiences in Dr Reddy's, he said he joined Dr Reddy's long back when there was a crisis in board after many board members had quit. His journey began with an aim of making the company the best place to work and to attract talent and not to be dependant on individuals, he said, adding, “All this helped me grow as a leader along with organisational growth,” he said.

Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS said the 15-year old university was going beyond management studies. It will be starting a school of performing arts from this academic year. The NMIMS now has 13,500 students across its campuses including the main campus in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Indoor.

It's new campus, coming up in a 90-acre plot in Jadcherla near here, will be ready by next year, Saxena said.
